Mourvèdre: Wine Blogs News Press Review
This was a classic example of a Bandol red -- deep, a little rustic in texture (from the Mourvedre) but slowly opening with air time to reveal great, earthy scents and deep flavors. Would be fantastic with a French pot roast like a daube. Nearly saturated black ruby with a brick tint. Closed (...)

In the past 3 years, Gramercy Cellars has been working with some of the best vineyards in the state of Washington for Grenache, Mourvedre and the newcomer grape, Cinsault. Okay - okay, so Cinsault really isn't a newcomer to Walla Walla as it was one of the first to be planted in the valley many (...)

Go to Spec's on Smith and get some of the value-priced, loaded-with-character gem! This blend of Syrah, Grenache, Marselan (a grape that is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache), and Mourvedre was intensely-flavored, balanced, and very old school in style, with lots of earthy, (...)

A really good and distinctive wine at its peak.* 65% Syrah, 15% Grenache; 20% Mourvedre. Completely saturated black color with ruby highlights. Deep, complex nose of blackberry compote, toasty, saline-tinged sandstone, and roast pork. Mouthfilling, yet not as heavy as the color would lead you (...)

After spending about an hour out in the vineyard this afternoon and finding scattered but significant veraison in Mourvedre and Syrah, just the first hints of color in a few top-of-hill Grenache clusters, and no coloring at all in (...)
