Cremant de Bordeaux wine
Cremant de Bordeaux, a wine from Bordeaux France Vineyards

Crémant de Bordeaux is a white or rose sparkling wine produced using the traditional method ; as an AOC (apellation d’origine contrôlée), it has to fulfill strict production criteria.

A Crémant must be harvested by hand with yields not exceeding a set amount for their AOC. The wines must also be aged for a minimum of one year. AOC laws do allow cuvées with Sauvignon blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sémillon, Pinot noir, Gamay, Côt, Pineau d’aunis and Grolleau but those grapes are rarely used in a significant amount.

Thanks to Sémillon and Sauvignon, white cremants de Bordeaux are fresh, nervous and quenching wines. Rose cremants de Bordeaux are fruity, elegant and very fine. Conceived to be drunk young, Cremant is an excellent aperitive wine, or a base for cocktails.
